Well this is my first attempt with my new camera.What do you think? (Be as harsh as you like besause I want to learn;) )

Good shot Eric. The highlights look blown on top of his head and it's looking a little soft which can no doubt be sorted in processing. Shooting in RAW format gives you best control over the highlights.

LOL. Well digital photography is a double whammy - you need to learn the processing too to get the best out of it.

Nice shot for a beginner! (i'm still learning too:D) what camera are you using? be warned now that this hobby will get expensive! :lol: i got my D70 for my birthday and all i want now is a load of BIG EXPENSIVE LENSES!!!! :thumbs: :bonk:

I've just become the very proud owner of an EOS 400D:) The photo was taken with the kit lens. Don't worry I'm already lusting after various L series lenses:naughty:

Good!!! :p that is a totally natural reaction, I'm eyeing up a macro lens at the mo, then a zoom either 70-200 ... or to 300??? :D
