Not my normal subject but the light was lovely in the garden tonight and I had the macro lens on. Are these any good? Your comments very much appreciated!

very much liking no3, lovely bright colours and lighting,
#1 - the white speckles, moisture I think, unfortunately look like the colour has somehow vanished, otherwise t'would be great. However for me, 3 & 4 are the bees knees, very nicely done, with great texture and colour!

Thanks for the positive comments chaps and chapesses!
Oddly enough, considering all that beautiful colour ... my fave is the Lavender!
I reall like the restful tones and the way the middle leaf just pops.
So, as CT said your focusing was 'spot on' here ... time to spill em ... did you manual-focus on these or auto?
I spent an hour in the garden on Saturday with my macro lens and felt a bit disappointed with the reults, for a start, I cant remember the last time there wasnt a breeze here.
I used auto-focus and with the exception of just one or two, everything I shot seemed to be slightly off!

Thanks Glo - that happens to be my favourite as well!
Here are the spilled beans...
The set up was with my Canon 100 mm. The first shot was the rose at ISO 100 but I wanted a bit faster shutter speed as there was a bit of 'wind' movement on the others so I cranked up to 200 for the rest. I am amazed that, other than the lavender, I took only one shot of each flower and thats what you see above.
These were all manually focussed using a tripod and on aperture priority:
Rose f7.1 1/125 ISO100
Cosmos f5 1/500 ISO200
Petunia f5 1/1250 ISO200
Clematis f5 1/125 ISO200
Lavender f5 1/500 IS0200
These were all manually focussed using a tripod and on aperture priority:
....Ahhh! back to the tripod again ... still havent got one! :bonk:
Thanks for sharing the info John, I might post a couple of my efforts later but iirc, there was only really one shot (Cosmos) that appealed to me, and I have the odd feeling it really wont appeal to anyone else.
If the rain holds off, Ill pop back out and try the manual focus thang! ;)

Love #3 but maybe cropping so the centre was bottom right?;)

Clematis for me.... by far the best.
I have them in my garden....so you could say I've always had a good relationship with my clematis!!!! :naughty: :D  )
