Sorry Janice, it's definately a Hover, the eyes are different. :)

Janice, Hover flys change their appearance to fool predators. Depending what is prevalent in the area they can change to look like wasps and bees. The difference is they have bigger eyes, 1 set of wings (as all flys do) and the abdomen is not separated.

This one was clearly a good disguise as he tricked you!!:thumbs:

I didn't know that either. Thanks for the information. As for the picture, its a nice clean and sharp shot. Slight shame about what the little fella is standing on though.
