View Full Version : Cheap studio
Been playing with my interfit 150 and took this shot whilst my mate was trying to fix her hair. Not really a pose but I quite like it.. :)

Lovely natural pose - and great smile :D
I would clone out the second catchlight in her right eye though and the black top is merging into the background.

Thanks. The non posed stuff came out so much better than the rest :). I was trying black and white backgrounds and she lost the black top after a few trys as you said I was going to have trouble with merging
Good note about the 2nd catchlight though...
Skintone seems slighly off, as if it has a bit of a magenta cast, but it could be my monitor
Shame about losing the top but its still a lovely vibrant shot with lots of personality.

Yeh I wasn't sure about the skintone. In some shots it kinda looks a little sweaty / plasticy.
Are there any good Ps tricks to tone this down a bit or colour correct ?

I'm quite interested in what the 150 kit can do. Will you be posting up some more examples?

Hope you don't mind a bit of hijacking but here are a couple of mine taken with the same kit.....

No I don't mind ;)
The only reason I've managed to get some decent shots with my interfit was from the help of *** like Hacker and others on this forum. I've managed to get the right settings for the camera and lights to work most of the time. There's obviously a lot to learn but I've been happy with the most recent results
Another attempt, this time with my mate's son. Ignore the rather dodgy cloning/filling around his hairline. Work still in progress as
I was trying to alter the background with a rather bad fill. But you get the idea of the kit.
It's worth buying if you just want to practice and get into doing some portraits. Cheap and cheerful I say !

When you say 'Interfit 150' what did you actually get? As looking at their site they have about 20 different products one could reasonably describe as just an 'Interfit 150' from Umbrella kits to a bulb to a home studio kit :p
The interfit 150 comes with a softbox & an umbrella. 150w flash with 60w modelights, 2 stands. It's the cheapest sort of studio kit they do.
Interfit 150 Home Studio (http://www.interfitphotographic.com/Lighitng/Product%20Pages/Home%20Studio%20EX150%20flash.php)
Cheers for that, looks pretty good for the money that does.
Now, just to earn some money and then it'll be a choice between that or saving for a macbook :p
Devine madness, if you wanna pop down to the Home of football in the south mate I have the same setup, I could always meet you at my place of work just opposite fratton park:D
Drop me a line mate
Sean
Afraid I already live in the home of south coast football :p
