Hi

I'm relatively new to photography but have got involved in "shooting" at horse shows. I've always snapped away before but last year splashed out on a Nikon D50 and then sold that and got a D80. I'm hooked!

I'm currently after some advice on a good lens to use for indoor shows where light levels are is low or at best, poor! But my budget is restricted! Any advice welcome

Welcome to the forum.

To answer your question you will ideally need lenses with an aperture of F2.8 for indoor shooting. I would imagine a 70-200 would be a good start :)

Yep :) I think Hacker also uses a shorter range as well though, do a search for his posts and it'll be in there somewhere :)

Welcome! :D

Sigma 50-150 2.8 could be useful?

That's not a bad shout actually, you seen any real life reviews on them though? A bit on the scarce side. photozone compares it to the Tokina AF 50-135mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX which might also be worth looking at.
