Just putting the "feelers" out for this one.

I have been tempted to go and do a day out in the north east of England for a while now, there are so many good locations around those parts that I thought it might be worth a bit of a travel around some of the spots in a day.

I was thinking:
Angel of the North (possibly at sunrise)
Industry on the Middlesborough coast (Seal Sands)
South Shields (promenade and beach)
Tynemouth Priory (nice old ruin)
Saltburn Pier (at sunset)
Newcastle (night shots of the quayside)

This sounds good to anyone else? or am I going to be on my own :p

Sounds good to me, I'm up for it :)
My preferences would be (rather obviously :)) Quayside or Saltburn, although Paddy's Hole (along the coast from Saltburn is another good location)

I am thinking maybe a trip up the coast during the days visiting the many sites might work well. Plenty of stuff on that lovely coast :) ending up at the quayside for some night shots maybe. Dunno though ;) wait to see what everyone else thinks

Depending on the date I'd like to be there too and meet up with a few fellow photographers and the other Les McLean :) I will be away working in Canada from 25th June until 2nd August so hopefully the get together will happen later in the year.

I was thinking towards the end of August so that the days are a bit shorter maybe so getting a possible sunrise and sunset wouldnt make it an extremely long day :p

Though I did have the thought last night that sunrise at Whitby Abbey would be great. But didnt realise it was English Heritage :( so photos could be a problem.

Sounds good to me as well JL - depending on the date might be able to skip along the hadrians wall for it.

I might be up for this as well, especially for some dusk/night photography.

There's also the Transporter Bridge (probably best at dusk)

It might be worth checking with them. One photographer with bagloads of kit looks like a pro. A dozen just looks like a club on a day out.

I might be up for this depending on dates etc. Also as I don't drive, I might need to thumb a lift if we are visiting multiple locations.:)

I thought we were meeting in the North East. Whitby is near enough the midlands in my book ;)
