And took this one last night... Can't deceide whether the reflection on the darker side is good or bad. Any comments?

Many thanks :)

EDIT: I'm not sure if my monitor is set uo correctly, so it might appear different to others.

The bottom one appears to have a "dark" rash across your forehead.
The top one looks much better IMHO

1st one for me too, nicely done with the shadows & moody atmosphere

First one: Eye too dark, no catchlight, you have a spot :p lighting is ok, though looks to have been run through a noise filter?

Second one: Looking away is interesting though I think eye contact would have worked better, the actual technical side of the eyes is better, clear and with good catch. maybe a touch dark overall?

I quite like the first one, but a little more light might have improved it - especially on the eye. Nice pose though, and I like your expression. Quite honest looking.

Second one doesn't do all that much for me. Maybe without the hand.

Self portraits are tough aren't they? A great try though

I very much appreciate the comments guys, many thanks indeed!

They were both done in about 5 minutes when I was bored, and the light is infact just my 20W halogen desk lamp! lol :D

After reading all your comments, I completely agree. Most of them hadn't even occured to me! I'll give them another go at some point with better lighting. Only bummer is the IR shutter release on my D50 has broken, and other than that I only have self timer, which, I believe locks the focus! :(

Oh, and Divine, its a mole not a spot ;):p:lol:
