It is a new camera so I am still getting used to it (K100D), It is a fairly close in portrait of my better half. Peoples opinions, constructive critcisms etc are appreciated. :)

I quite like that although perhaps could do with seeing a bit more of her:thumbs:  Good expression :)
I really like the tight crop but its a bit dark on my monitor.
I like the expression, a nice dreamy far away look, but there's a little spot of red in the middle of the cheek which I would personally soften/ clone out as due to the compostion/tight crop, thats what my eye is drawn to the most.
:agree: (although it doesn't look dark on my monitor).
Very nice for a 1st portrait

I agree with Lady Pitstop, a bit more of her face would have been good. Great expression though and you have the important highlight in the eyes.
Well done ! :)
I really like that. If I was going to throw some critique your way though (and guess what, I am ;) ). I'd like to see a tiny bit more space above her right eye. Just a couple more mm's, so that the eye is in the frame rather than just snagging the edge.
It's still great though. Far better than any first effort has a right to be.

I really like the background colour - makes the whole image feel fresh.
