Hi,

I've been interested in photography for a while but am new to on line forums and have just joined.

This photograph is a snap of a girl on the threshold of a small chapel in a French monastry with a Canon IXUS 50 hand held in quite low light and is a little grainy.

If you'd not said it was a monastry I'd have thought she was waiting for the loo. Her expression is a bit pained IMHO and the bag at her front doesnt do any favours.

I hadn't thought of it as being like a loo :)

Maybe she was cross because I took her photo! ;)

Hiya

Welcome to the forums.

Sorry, dont have much to say really about the picture.
I think the title suits it well enough, but if you hadnt said that it was a chapel, there would be no way of knowing, as the picture tells me nothing.

Keep snapping, keep posting ... we're all here to learn! :)

WELCOME TO TPF!:welcome:

Keep at it and post often - if we sound harsh it is meant in a good spirit and for you to learn, not to attack you.

Your exposure here needs attention and it might be hard to get it spot on as you do not have much control without flash. Then flash on a compact is also tricky as it is mostly too much or too little.

Try to experiment with situations where you have plenty of ambient light and/or bump up your ISO.

But do keep trying!!
