Hi folks, been away for a while so thought I'd post.

But what I want to post about is I did my first wedding last weekend and boy was it was a learning curve, I thought I had it all down pat but on the day there was alot more going on than I had planned.
The remit....the B&G did'nt want a bossy tog, this was their 2nd time round for both of them. I was allowed 30 mins after the service for formals and to spend with the couple for shots on their own. They told me , both their first wedding were spoilt by togs that just took over the weddings.
On the day they were really cool and gave me no pressure what so ever, the perfect first clients really. Also the shoot, and I still can't beleive my luck here, was in a castle on the coast.
Nice size of wedding party only 36. I was basically allowed access to almost everywhere to shoot, even behind the minister during the service!
I have to say by the end of the day I was mentally shattered, more so than any sports shoot I've been on. Constantly looking for angles and shots and running up and down back stairs to get in front of folk.
I planned to use my 70-200 but it went on me the previous weekend ....bloody rain...so I had ordered a 50-150 f2.8 but it never came in time so ended up using 50 f1.8 and a 17-35. I shot everything in RAW and used an an D200 with an SB600 and a D2x with a SB800.
There was a reception the following evening at their smallholding where they converted their barn for the reception. Everyting was white, the walls and ceiling drapped in silk sheets and the floor was even painted white. It was like shooting in a diffusion dome!! One flash light up the whole room!
Overall I am happy with what I got and how it went, some of the rooms were nearly in darkness , next time I'll plan on using remote flash but its the time factor in setting them up. I did do a recce the previous week but I was limited to where I could get into.
I threw a small slide show of some of the images here, I am still finishing off the rest of conversions, just grabbed ones here and there.
