I would like to know which off camera flash cord and flash bracket are being used with the Canon 30D and the 430 or 580 flashgun.
Thanks

The Canon Off Camera Shoe Cord 2 is common to all Canon cameras. It's the curly wurly cord type. I dont use a flash bracket- I either use it with my gimbal head which has the standard tripod screw to take it, a separate tripod - or just hand hold it.

If you're going to get a flash bracket which bolts to the camera - bite the bullet and have a look at some of the Wimberley ones. ;)

The weading photographers that I know who use a flash bracket use an ST-E2 to fire their flash. They say that it is 100% reliable. I don't use a flash bracket myself, but I thought I would put that out there.

Also I have seen and used once the RRS bracket. Very nice.

I use an STE-2 for my flash needs, it's got precise control of the flash gun(s), especially if you are using two flash, you can adjust the ratio of each flash (Canon EX guns) while still retaining ETTL

I use a manfrotto flash bracket, mainly because it's got the adjustability I need.
