View Full Version : Dove from above
My husband was trying to wash the car last year and this collared dove...one of a pair... kept landing on his head!!!
The pair stayed around for months......landing on my son's hand as he walked to catch the school bus!! :D

How odd - could become the next 'must have' accessory:D
great shot, kinda reminds me of theat joke about the man in the doctors with a frog sitting on his head and the doctor says "well how did this happen?" and the frog says "well it started as a spot on my bum!"
I wonder if perhaps they have been someones pets?

He seems to have a quite nervous expression on his face.
Probably because he's got a bloke on his bum.
*boom boom*
Doh!!! :D
Well we live in the middle of nowhere so I doubt they were pets.. just ordinary country birds I think.
The nervous face was because a) it kept pecking at his head and b) I had just shouted at him to keep still !!!
Me shouting is enough to make anyone nervous!!! :D
Is it...is it a hat?
Great comedy shot Janice & well done for having the camera to hand & also for terrifying your husband into keeping still with a flying rat on his head
He! he! ... definately one for the family album that!

It wasnt to hand Mike......I had to run indoors and fish it out from my Mini Trekker and put the right lens on!!
I shouted at him to stay still and thats why "the face"...he had been pecked to death by the time I got back outside!!!! :D

Is his name Cliff?...bah, it doesn't work with Doves. Any chance you can redo the shot with a seagull?
Great shot!
There used to be a crow were I used to live was similarily tame, it used to fly down and land on my shoulder anytime i was out the back garden. It also used to watch you through the windows although it would never come inside so i think it was actually tame. It would sit on the open window looking in but never venture further.
