6 and 9 are nice interesting shots, I do like these.
The rest are either too far away, dont convey a sense of speed, or have their backs to you - so for me these don't work.

Thanks for your comments. As far as "conveying a sense of speed" there are a few there that are hanging off the arse-end of their bikes and are sideways. So I feel that they do convey a sense of speed.

Too many photos to comment on them all, so I'll stick to the first lot....
1) You've missed the focus point! :bonk: You've focused on the dirt bank/corner just behind the rider....
2) Same as above!
3) Lot's wrong with this, blown highlights all over the rider and there's way too much camera movement......tbh, it's just a blurry mess! :(
4) Should've been a landscape shot, not a portrait one, the framing/composition/crop is doing nothing for it....:shake:
5) Could've been a great shot, but again the in focus part of the frame is slightly behind back tyre on the dirt flying in to the air.....you either need a slightly deeper or much narrower depth of field to make a shot like that work! ;)
6) Best shot of the bunch, however I think a pure black and white conversion would work better....
Not a bad effort overall, I know how hard motocross can be to shoot and I think you've done ok.....watch those focus points though, missing them is unforgivable!! ;) Oh, and I sort of agree with Martin, you can tell they are moving, but there's not much sense of speed or excitment, you need to think more about your compositions and angles.....keep at it, you'll get there with practice!!

Ok, let me expand. The bikes and riders appear fairly statiic as do the backgrounds. To convey "more" speed, you could either shoot side on and pan with the rider, or use a slower shutter speed to blur the wheels more - or you could change the DoF to blur out the background more.
I'm not saying theres anything wrong with your images, just trying to give you a few pointers if you decide to shoot MotoX again.
Hope this helps.
