it had been tipping it down then the sun came out and this very bright rainbow appeared - no PP - straight out of the camera. Just thought I'd share that with you ;)

Wonderful colours in that rainbow LP. Personally I would crop the rooftops out of the frame and just leave the treetops
Hope you don't mind, but I had a quick play in PS.

I adjusted the levels as it was a bit under-exposed and then added a soft-light gradient layer (black to transparent) to add to the sky.

thanks Pete  - didn't have time to play about with it or adjust anything on the camera - I just wanted to capture the glorious colours . I know it's not technically a good pic.;)
Ah right :) Well you've done better than I have with these things. I never get that lucky.

I'm sure you would've made a much better job of it than I did;)
OOoh thats purty!!!! :D
Im not jealous at all ... well perhaps just a little bit! ;)
Popped out for a few hours yesterday evening, dithered about taking the camera and decided against it, as the weather has been so dire.
As usual in such circumstances there seemed the most incredible natural light, beautiful clouds, and the deepest rainbow Ive seen in ages ... I could have cried! :bonk:
Has anyone noticed this http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=299449#post299449
