Hi Ed, I looked at monkeydave's set first which are ok. He has caught some good moments (better than alot of so called photographers I've seen). Yours are a lot cleaner. What is the difference between the both of you, Monkeydave has a lot more noise (perhaps higher iso setting, or under exposed to begin with and increased trying to lift the levels. I do like the second one best, would crop into the performer a little bit more is it was mine.

I think that for your 1st go you've done really well mate.
If I'm honest - the 1st pic definitely looks like noiseware has been used & needs to be a but more subtle IMO - his face has a bit of a plasticky look but am sure this can be sorted easily.
2nd - I really like the extremes of light & dark in this image - eye contact would have easily made this shot the best of the set but musicians never play fair do they
3rd - Nice shot - I'd just crop in a bit tighter & lose some of the space at the top of the frame to further draw attention to the guitarist - would maybe selectively lighten his head very slightly too (although if the original image is very noisy then I'd leave it).
4th - best of the set IMHO, excellent shot mate - I'd give it a bit more of a sharpen & crop as above but aside from that a really good shot. Very nicely done
Indoor gigs are always difficult & I think that for a 1st go you've done excellently, looking forward to the next one
