well went it alone with the firework display most turned out blurrred due to me using a slow shutter speed and trying to do it hand held.

towards end of display used a slightly faster shutter speed and captured this one

Damn missed this thread yesterday. The only major tip for fireworks is to use a tripod and keep playing with the settings, only photographed a few but each one had been very different with different lighting etc.

Looks like you did a good job though :)

This was taken last year. Moon added later. With a tripod at f16 for 15secs. ISO 100

Sorry we missed your post. Another big tip it to watch which way the wind blow and try to avoid the smoke, this is something I did NOT do

If i cant use a tripod ( due to walking around a themepark all day ) im guessing a trashcan is just as good ?

Trash can, wall, lean on something solid - tree or lamp post. Railings are good at Epcot. Keep your elbows locked into your sides and dont breath while taking photo. Oh yes - turn off flash.

Or you could invest in a mini tripod and carry it around in your pocket  then obviously a surface to rest it on would help too :lol
