Does the filter ring move when focusing? Also, how much would i expect to pay for one second hand?

I'm after one too - was rather hoping for a swap with my 17-85IS but as yet no interest, I'm going to have to hit the 'bay I think.

I am toying with the idea of selling mine once I come back from my hols...the lure of a Nikon 12-24 is just too strong:)
