I managed to get some more shots last saturday evening. These are from Church Bay on the west Anglesey coast. Any C&C's welcome, thanks ben:)

Nice shots with a nice atmosphere, could do with a little photoshop work in the dark areas, but still great.

Thanks for the comments everyone.:) PapaLazarou thats not the first time that I have heard comments that the dark areas lack detail in some of my pictures. I had some prints back from photobox today that also appear a lot darker than on my screen. I think I will invest in a spyder calibration thing, hopefully that will help.

What (if any) filters did you use to achieve the above?

Just an ND grad to help balance the sky to the foreground.;)

Nice shots.

I find the double white border off putting. Perhaps a black inner might suit considering how dark some parts of the images are? Or maybe I'm rambling!

I like the borders you have used on these - all down to taste I guess.

I like No 2 the best. Did you handhold this or use a tripod. I only ask as when you look at the patterns left in the sand they look ever so slightly blurred as though from some slight camera shake.

I think you have done a great job and whilst there are some dark areas I reckon the overall product is very good.

Look forward to seeing some more!

Cheers,

Bob

Thanks for all the comments everyone.:)
BobR, the shot was taken on a tripod but i don't have mirror lock on the D40, maybe that. Could be I didn't sharpen that area as I used a mask in PP, I will have a look at it again in Photoshop.

No worries mate. Was being super critical as they are so good! Nice to see somebody getting some decent sunsets... looks outside to see more rain!

Very nice shots all three - I'd go with the 2nd as my favourite.

Church Bay is one of the few places on Anglesey I haven't visited - I think I should !!

Thanks Simon, I hadn't been there myself until last week! I've been trying to explore the west coast of Anglesey more over the last week or two, there's some lovely scenery and secluded beaches.:)

OOOh! I cant choose!!!

Really love the dark & moody of #1 & #3,
but I guess #2 is a bit special, has such a clarity that just jumps right out at you.
Lovely stuff all 3
