Hi

I know it should work, but has anyone tried SD-HC cards of more than 2Gb in a 1D Mk II. I'd rather not spend the money if it isn't going to work well!

Thanks

Paul

I have a 4 gig one and it works fine, just keep your firmware up to date.

If I read it right that's what the latest firmware 1.2.6 addresses, compactflash over 8gb and sdhc over 2gb.

sorry for the daft question, but im just waiting for my new D40x to arrive and am on the lookout for a memory card. I have been looking at sdhc and can get a 4gb card for a good price, just need to know if my normal card reader can read sdhc cards (can read normal sd)?

Even if it can't, the cam should have a USB socket. So you can plug the camera into the computer to transfer the pics.

thanks ewan, good point.

after a bit of digging, normal card readers dont support sdhc.

Excellent. Thanks. Next question - anyone recommend somewhere with good prices?

Check out TP classifieds 'Digital somthing?' Just saved over £50 on two 4gb cads + reader over my usual supplier.

I think you need a special reader for the larger sdhc cards and Sandisk supply one with their cards.
