Arrived at 9am. Injections, fiddle, ow. Waited a bit. Injections, fiddle, ow. Waited more. *Yoink* and done. Not the greatest start to the day but its done and this has been one of my great fears so now its done and I know I can get others done if need be. Well, one is below the gum line so I can't see that being easy. Hopefully having this one out is all I need. Its a little annoying at the moment, uncomfortable and its odd tasting blood all the time. But its done. Fear faced. You can see the bent bit because its been at like 45 degrees in my mouth for years. I can't really speak right now. I just said "best" and ow. I couldn't eat anything this morning as I felt sick with nerves so its going to be a long day.

Scored a tenner for being brave and choosing to get this sorted rather than wussing out with a general anesthetic.

Costs me £2 a go with my two kids, cost me a fortune over the last 18 months.

I was really hoping this was just going to be a story about it.
Did you have to post that shot :gag:
I hate teeth and dentists, I dont even visit unless I'm sedated

I'm a photographer, so yeah :) I hate them just as much as anyone. I've had the pain for 2 weeks and at least 1 nightmare this week about it. This is one of my worst fears but I've faced it.

Yikes I had to have 2 surgically removed and I couldn't eat anything for a week. Luckily mouth wounds heal quickly.

Owch..that looks nasty and you must have been in some pain..I have all mine through and they are pushing my other teeth into some weird places..I'm too scared of needles to have mine done..but well done for being brave and going for it. Wish they did the gas..that was awesome! :D

IMO teeth are a pain in the @ss from the day your born till the day you die, unless your lucky like my dad and he's just dropped out one by one.
I find myself trying to put my finger on why myself and others are so scared of dentists usualy before I go to try and help, but it never does

I had my 4 wisdom teeth removed from my gums a few years ago along with the 4 teeth that just sit behind your eye teeth. Getting 8 teeth removed and not having a single corner of your mouth that you could eat with was quite sore to say the least. That was as a starter to my treatment as well, I now sport some titanium plates and a jaw that sits a centimetre further forward than before!

Ewwww. Well done for facing your fear Pete
I've been there and done that twice :gag:

Ouch mole, that sounds bad. I think the problem with the dentist is that you can't move and you have to be awake. I think people would hate doctors more if you had to be awake during surgery :)

Ewwww!!!

Thanks for sharing that one Pete :gag:

Well done for braving it.
I too fear the dentist & braved it a few years back.
But like yours, my other wisdom tooth is sitting below the gum line & not in good-nick.
In fact I sometimes find myself sitting there poking the tip of my tongue into it ... must make for a great face (not!)

Unfortunately I cant muster the confidence to be that brave, so unless it gets me screaming in agony, it can stay put!
Seeing the root on yours has confirmed that Im making the right decision too!

Aside from water the dentist has got to be my only other worst fear in life too Pete ... so for sure I can empathise muchly m8 ... http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/images/smilies/new/0711/noteeth.gif

Had my four wizzies out in one go in my twenties ... out for the count under GA and when I came round was sick as a very, very, very sick thing for 24 with the worst hangover of my life ... http://img145.echo.cx/img145/1536/sc0734ig.gif ... never again ... :D

I had GA when I was a kid. I remember a very odd dream like being on a rollercoaster. Afterwards I was very sick.

Don't eat rice for a while :)

Takes a while for the hole to close and it can be annoying when you get food in the hole ;)

And mine came out very easily - I was certain the dentist would need to put his foot on my forehead to pull hard enough.... but it was a case of 'was that it?'

ahhhhhhhh,
Wait till you get to my age and have to have most of them
out.
that will feel like a walk in the park:lol:
Dont want to worry you but it hurts when you have to get most of
them out when they are still servicable.
Just because you are a little bit LONG IN THE TOOTH,,,,
