Hi all
I have been storing my shots into folders with adobe bridge,my images are numbered IMG-0001 upwards,my problem is that when i started i was using my 400d i 've recentley bought a 5d and all the numbers are now the same as the 400 images,so the program keeps asking me if i want to replace existing image.
How do i change the IMG numbers so they dont clash:shrug:
Simple english please as computers are new to me:thinking:

I believe if you stick a card in the 5D with a higher number than you finished with your 400D it will start from there.

Except nobody keeps images on a card after downloading...

shorey666 you need to find someway to get bridge to rename the files as it transfers them or use different software.

I use downloader pro from breezesys and get it to rename each file to the date and time it was taken (automatically).

or make another folder called 5D and send them there :)

Thanks for the replys guys but i just want to know how to alter the sequence of the IMG numbers ,so if i have for example IMG-001 i would like to make it... IMG-x001,just so i can store them with the batches i already have in my named folders.
Sorry if i'm not making it very clear:help:

this might help or might not

on another prog this is how you do it

right click on the file that needs a name change and see what options come up i believe it will have an option called 'rename'

rename it simply eg the same as it is but with a 'A' at the end

then wait a couple of seconds and it should change

it takes quite a while to do if you have a lot of files

hope this works on your prog

sorry if it doesnt i cant help

Why not just create another folder in there called "5D" and put all your new shots in there?

if you select all the files in the folder then right click chose rename and name the file, hit return and the files will all be renamed to the name given with a sequential number added.

e.g Photo(1), Photo(2), Photo(3) etc..
