View Full Version : Sunset over Trory, Fermanagh
I noticed a nice sunset just as it was finishing but I decided I would head out to the lough and take some shots of the nice sky tones anyway.

C&C as usual welcome :)
Love the first 2 :) but I don't like the grass in the 3rd pic
I like them all, the grass adds some foreground interest which is good, though as I always seem to, I think it might look better flipped horizontally.
I love the grass in the 3rd photo! :)

Nice set of shots. I like the grass in #3 - it adds foreground interest.

Second for me, I like the 30/70 classical split.
The reflected FG clouds provide just enough anchor to hold it together.
No 3 falls down becuse of the relatively narrow DOF (f8), leaving the BG hills OOF. Good concept though:)
I quite like the OoF hills in number 3.
But I always was a bit starange like that
Nice set of shots though.

You didnt really have that much luck with the weather, It still rained a fair bit yesterday bit cleared up enough in time for a nice sunset.
I dont usually shoot landscapes so I was trying a variety of things, some worked some didnt. I also didnt have my tripod with me so I was quite limited in what shots I could take but the gorilla pod saved me at least partly ;)
For the 2nd shot i really wanted to get up a bit higher so I could have the jetty stretching out into the picture for some foreground interest but just couldnt find a working composition that kept the reflected clouds. The water was too rough to mirror the sky out beyond the 2 concrete jettys. (It had been nice and smooth untill somebody came along in a motor cruiser and left the water choppy for the next 20min)
