Garden sunset

Took this one last night from the back garden, it's the first sunset I have taken with the 400D, and would appreciate any c&c on it

Very pretty indeed.

You've gotten rid of any distracting foreground interest, which is good.
You've also not gone overboard (and too low) with the trees, which I have done in the past, which would have resulted in too much silhouetting taking over the shot.

The sky itself is nice to look at, nice and fiery, although I'm not too sure on the colour of the clear bits of sky inbetween the cloud.

The main two criticisms I could give though, are

A: It does seem oversharpened somewhat, which is especially noticable around the tree on the right hand side.
B: Im not sure, but I think the lack of focal point seems to be niggling me. My eye wanders round the shot and doesnt seem to want to 'rest' on anything'.

I echo Marcel's 2 points. Sharp'd and no focal point.

Cheers for the comments, I debated whether to sharpen it or not, should have left it as it was.
I will take the comments on board. :)
