Ooooh err Sir MK, I really do kind of like those  Very dreamy, looks like they were shot on the moon or something.

Would you mind sharing the details please? Oh and what time of day were they taken? ;)

Works well for me, turning something quite ordinary into something special.
Slight halo around top right rock in second, but no biggie.

Superb MK! The first is definately my favourite. The second is just a little bit out in composition, but still damn good.

Merci. Stock 18-55mm lens on my D40X. Used a ND10 filter to make the exposures 48 seconds and 31 seconds respectively. They were then put into Adobe Lightroom, and a fair bit of PP was done (Mainly cleaning the shot up of dust etc and making B&W), they were then transferred to CS3, where I dodged and burned away to get the tonal balance I wanted. Also added the slight blue tint, and sharpened it a bit. :)

Oh these have come out well, really liking them, how come mind didnt turn out like that?

Long exposure is the key. These were as short as id like to go. Ideally I would be looking at ~5-10mins per exposure to completely neutralise the water movement. Yeah, there is quite a lot of pp work on both of them (see comment above for details)

These are great, I really like them. great work!

Cheers.:)

Thank you. I really want to try more like this with various coastal objects and structures. I recon Normandy would be fantastic place to try it. Yeah, its annoying me a bit that. Caused by sloppy dodging and burning at a guess. I'll blame the time of night I did them.;)

Thank you. :) How do you feel the composition could be improved on the second one? I think I would have liked the horizon line in the first one to be a tad lower down.

great shots

Thank you :)

I like the horizon on the first, the composition is a little too much to the right on the second. Its marginal ut just a little too much open space lower left. Minor niggle ate, they're both great shots!

Hehe, cheers mate. Well if people take the time to look at and comment on my pictures, be it good or bad, then the least I can do is reply to their post. Keeps me busy anyway. (Deviantart is the worst for keeping me busy:lol: )

Wow! MK these are beautiful.
Love the blue tint, really adds to the air of tranquility they have.
In fact I could see these on the wall in an expensive SPA or uptown apartment

These are really nice shots, well executed and processed, well done,

I am really tempted to try something like this after seeing these, and the works of http://www.davidburdeny.com/.
Where did you get your ND10 filter from?:)

Lets hope someone rich want to buy one of my expensive prints.;) I thought the blue tint helped cool the image down, and as you say make it more tranquil.

Thank you. Yeah, its David Burdeny that inspired me. I absoultely love his work, and B&W doesn't get any better than his stuff as far as im concerned. I thhink I got the ND10 filter from Warehouse express. Its a B&W F-Pro one. Im going to have to get others soon, as I want to switch to a Cokin Z-pro system so that I can use my 10-20mm.
