Hi again. Another question for the olympus people :D

I've just been looking on ffordes, and it seems they have a couple of e-500s in good condish for quite a cheap price...In their lenses section they have a load of "zuiko" lenses for dirt-cheap prices. For example a 28mm f2.8 for £15!?

Are these old, film-camera lenses? Will they fit the e-500? Will they work? Are they any good? :help: :help: :help:

Thanks again for all the help I know I'll get :D

Yes they will work, but require an adaptor mount (Cheap from ebay)

they can only be used in manual focus / manual apature

yes some of them are very good (and cheap)

Dont forget to multiply the focal length by two to get the Olympus EFL

Thanks chilli :)

So you mean they will work in Apeture priority with manual focus, or does it have to be fully manual? I like the sound of the 2x CF - I don't do much wide stuff anyway.

Can you tell me which adapter mount I need?

Also, do you have any of these that you'd recommend?

Thanks again :)

the manual focus 50mm 1.8 makes a cracking portrait lens (100mm F1.8), but may be too long for some.

The adaptors can be found on ebay very cheaply, or you can get the official ZD ones for around £80.

I will post more info when i get home (out on a job formatting a pc for a mate at the moment)

The lenses that a lot of E-Series users like are 40mm F1.4 and 100m F2 (80mm and 200m EFL respectivly)

There are also quite a few that convert Konica lenses as per this guide (http://www.fourthirdsphoto.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=26&Itemid=26)

If going this route its also advisable to get a split focus screen (LINK (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Split-Image-Focus-Screen-for-Olympus-E1-E500-E400-E330_W0QQitemZ320138718568QQihZ011QQcategoryZ50508 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem))
