View Full Version : Malham Pano
I was driving past Malham Cove a few days ago and took the opportunity to try a panorama. Not something I have done before but this seems to have turned out ok'ish so I may try to find some more views. Had to search around and try a few different bit of software but settled on Arcsoft Panorama Maker (free trial :) ). This is a stitch of 11 images taken in portrait mode.

Thats very good.
The unfortunate aspect, for me, is the cloud cover over the tarn cliffs.

Pretty snazzy, has inspired me to have a go when I find the right scene

Like the use of the rock and wall as boundaries to the image. Consistent exposure too. Very nice.
Thanks for the comments. I'm going to try and search out a few more likely spots around the Dales.

The light was disappearing fast behind me and I don't think the cliffs were cloudless for any of the time I was there. Will revisit when I can.

What focal length were these taken at? I keep meaning to try some panos but I'm not sure how wide I can get away with...

I took these at 50mm as I wanted to avoid problems with distortion when stitching together. I haven't really experimented enough to see what the ideal focal length is.

I like rayfin! You've kept the exposure consistent so no change in light etc.
I personally think the could over the tarn adds to the picture.
As for pano software - it may be worth having a look at autopano pro I think that's good too! :)
