I only currently have 1 decent CF card, a 1.0 GB Sandisk (Extreme III). I am going to start taking some pics in RAW and feel I need another back up.

Would you buy a 2.0GB card, or is it safer to stick with smaller one's?

Would there be a noticeable diff between an Extreme III and Ultra II?

I recently upgraded my CF and decided to go for an Integral i-Pro 4GB, as they're pretty fast with lots of space and not as expensive as sandisk (though the top end sd cards are faster).

Think I got it for £33.

the only thing going against bigger cards is that you lose more images if they go kaaput or you lose them but as long as you stay away from ebay (a lot of duff/conterfit cards on there) and are careful where you store your cards when not in the camera then I see no problems.

My choice would be the Sandisk extreme III, be very wary of ebay a lot of fakes so stick to a reputable dealer, I bought my last one from Play.com for £17.99 delivered, that was 2gb.

It is a worry wondering if you are going to loose more shots with a bigger card, but Sandisk cards are good quality and I trust mine. I have 2 2gb Ultra IIs and 2 2gb Extreme IIIs and they perform the same for me, or at least I havent noticed any difference :)

I got mine from play.com - Think mine were all £16.99 at the various times of purchasing.

You will find them cheaper on Ebay but some may be fake. I only buy from a reputable supplier in sealed packs. Ian.

I purchased a 4GB Extreme III for 22.50 off ebay the other day, only to be shafted completely by cheque and a runaway ebay seller. 83 people got robbed as well - 2 grand in about 4 days he made. The swine!

Got my 4GB Extreme III from Ffordes in Beauly, hmm hmm....just along the road, for £30, fair enough it was very slightly used, but for the price........who's caring and it's a legit card.
