I happened to be up at 5:30 this morning (dont ask) and noticed it was a very misty morning. So out I went camera in hand, barely awake. I have managed to capture a few good shots I think.

This was taken from a favourite little spot of mine above the village on Cononley, the mist was hovering above the River Aire at the bottom of the valley where as on the hills its was a glorious sunny morning:

C&C welcome :) cheers

Hey Jimmy, please teachme how to get the correct exposure and settings for taking such a great pic. The sky and foreground are both correctly exposed... how do you do this?

Lovely shot jimmy, needs a tiny bit more saturation though imo :)

This is where I'm going wrong. When I wake at 5.30 I shouldn't be grunting rolling over and going back to sleep.

I should be getting up and going places.

Really nice shot.

All down to filters. Had an ND Graduated filter infront of the lens to stop the sky from going completely white and boring :) There is an interesting thread about there HERE (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=28050) :D

2 thumbs up, 1 for staying up early at 5:30, the other simply for the photo :)

Great photo, certainly worth the early morning. Not so sure about the branch in the bottom left, it's going in the opposite direction to all the other lines. Hmm, maybe it should be there, if I imagine it without it seems to be emptier.

Guess you mean the one in the bottom right? ;) I have a shot without it there. Will dig it out and post it.

Great image, very difficult exposure , handled very well.
My only niggle is the branch bottom right as zerosight as mentioned, it's leaning the wrong way.
Why this matters is that all your leading lines pull you into and through the image (as they should), the branch is leading you out of the image.

That aside, a cracker.

Just been through my shots and seems I didnt get a good one without that branch in. I like the branch just because it goes the opposite way to everything else :) (or thats my excuse and I am sticking to it) :p hehe
