Another shot from my early morning wander. This is slightly further down the hill than Misty Morning I (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=312355). I was just about level with the top of the mist here and it really was quite impressive. Not sure if I have captured quite how impressive it really was in this photo :( and I really wish I had given myself a bit more DOF as the out of focus wall in the foreground is really starting to bug me now :(

C&C welcome - do you think maybe I should crop out the wall?

:naughty:

Seriously though ... a great take and very atmospheric ... ... makes me want to get up early and go take some of these too ... ... but only want to 'cos I never will do ... :D

OOOh!!!
Id love to get a shot like this ... the mist looks just perfect to me.

Something isnt sitting quite right though (being picky) and Im not sure what.
Thought it was the wall at first but on second thoughts I think its that middle tree just above the wall, I find myself wishing it were not sticking up so much.

So, when youve been back & pruned it ... come and call for me!

Beautiful. And you've nailed the xposure in very tricky circumstances!

Personaly, I probably would've climbed the wall though as to me it just bisects the image and the real focus is the mist covered land beyond the wall. Sometimes, you just don't need the classic 'foreground interest'!

Yeah I wish I had climbed it now. The shot was actually take out of my car window (wound down) as I just happened to spot it whilst driving down from the hill I had been on. I was stopped on a blind corner and bloody steep hill :p and lazyness got the better of me, so I took a few shots and then moved before someone plowed into me :(

Anyone prefer this closer shot taken at the same time? I underexposed this one slightly to try and bring the mist out a bit. Is it too dark?

I love how mist can give an eerie feeling. I prefer the first one, in the closer one I feel that the foreground is dominating too much.
