View Full Version : Thread ratings
Hi
Can someone explain what the two types of thread ratings are about? There's the ticks and then the 1 to 5 stars? What's the difference?
I can apply stars but not ticks - any particular reason or have I just missed something?
Cheers
You mean ticks like this at the left of threads?

They are threads that you have posted in ( or in this case me, because its my screen shot:)) it's a reminder that you have replied to that thread. :D
No, on the right under the Rating heading - some have ticks and some have stars. It is possible to have both, as there is on my close up flower thread. I just wondered what the difference is
Can you post a screen shot of these ticks?
Can't say I've noticed any
Oz, the tick is if you have posted in that thread... the Star is the rating of the thread??
scoff - oz said on the right.
The only thing I can think of under the rating heading is the sticky pin
I think we'll need a screenshot of the thread with both. I can't find it.

The tick on the right under the ratings column shows threads you have subscribed too :)
A tick means you're subscribed to a thread. Stars mean that someone has rated the thread.
I haven't subscribed to any threads, I don't think?
Ah, cracked it.
The ticks on the right are threads I've "subscribed to", i.e. posted in, and the one on the left takes me to the first new post since I last read the thread.
Problem solved
You can change your Default Thread Subscription Mode in User Cp so that you don't automatically become subscribed to a thread just because you posted in it.

Problem solved :thumbs:Just remember though that just because you reply to a thread doesn't necessarily mean you are subscribed to that thread. Thread subscription defaults are set in your UserCP area, and there are several different methods of subscribing too.
Check it out in your UserCP area.
