This is the first time I have uploaded a photo here so I hope that I have made it the right size!
This is a hebe flower (from my garden) that I brought inside (out of the wind) and put against some black paper using just natural light:

I think that is a very good flower shot. Good composition and exposure.
I take loads of flower shots, but very few are good enough to show others.
I like the idea of taking them indoors.
Was it a special piece of black card, or just a normal piece of cardboard? Does this make sense?

I just bought a sheet of thick black paper from a well known office supplies store and taped it onto some cardboard from a free cardboard box - easy !!
