Come on folks time to get snapping your favourite/best blooms, ladies in waiting (maternity shots) gardens etc ...

In fact interpret the word Bloom in any way you see fit.

Only rules are ... When you post a pic, you must comment on the previous 2 pics before you, unless of course youre first to post.

Over to you .....

Finally one of these that I can actually think of something for :D

Snapped just now in my garden - contrast boost and darken. And USM as usual. Not cropped at all.

Blah! Ewan beat me

Nice pic Ewan, California Poppy I think. Could stand lightening just a touch more but very well taken :)

Mine; Paeony.

Scrub that last comment Ewan, doesn't need any lightening. Just had to re-calibrate my monitor...boyfriends been on my pc! :bat:

I like the Californian poppies vibrant colour and the contrast with the delicate white of the peony is dramatic. the lighting for the peony is lovely.

This was taken yesterday, in a break in the rain.

Lovely pic Photostar  Maybe a tad over sharpened? Mind you, mine was as well

Great pic Joseph but don't miss the petal-tips next time ;)

Um, I haven't got a photo to post. I just wanted to comment :D

@Photostar:

Nice flower, I think you can tell you were struggling for decent light, I assume it was overcast?

@ Joseph

I really like this, the blurred figure in the background kind of draws your eye in from main focal point (the flower).

Well here's my effort:

DarknFuzzy - nice pretty shot, roses are hard to get right and can look boring but this is quite nice!

MusicMan - I like the shape of the flower and composition but it's too saturated for my liking

And here's my interpretation, my cousins aged 8 and 5 at a wedding - not only because they are holding flowers but because dressed up in their flower girl outfits, they looked as they had truly bloomed, so grown up!

Another photo of mine, once again taking the un-original "Bloom" idea...! ;)

http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb217/JosephMillar/HiddenEDIT.jpg

I just did a quick PS on it to brighten the right side. It's very rough, and obvious where it hapenned, but hey! :D

Finky Cake- What pretty and photogenic cousins- lovely pic!

The Music Man- Yeh, a tad over saturated, but great composition, well done!

There I was trying out my new macro lens on Mum's plants, when we were interrupted by this visitor!

http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/gallery/data/1055/bloom1.jpg

The bridesmaid shot has a real ethereal feel to it; their dreamy/fairie like gaze and porcelain skin make it a classic timeless shot.

Not sure about the last one; seems a touch over post processed/over saturated to look particularly natural; but hey - that's just my view.

Joseph...that flower is STUNNING! I love how it stands out so well against the leaves
and Kathy, its almost as if the plant has sucked the black and yellow colour off the bee to make turn its leaves the same colour :D

Here we have Beauty and the be(eee)ast  sitting on a summer bloom

(P.s. Can we post more than one image in this competition?)

Nettie the colour in those Lilies is gorgeous.

Ladylens, great that you managed to get the petals and stamen? all in focus being as they are quite a distance apart. I love the daintyness of the petals, reminds me of coral in the sea.
