View Full Version : Do not adjust your set

Marcel

Just a quick announcement.
Our server was restarted last night, and as a result, the system time is a little skewiff (5 hours ahead I think).

Therefore you'll see the forum time is out of sync too.
Don't worry, keep posting as normal (Just ignore the time ;))

We've put a message into the host to get the time changed back.

Meanwhile, don't adjust your set, normal service will resume shortly :D

haha this could become confusing, anyone posting in a thread started less than 5 hours ago will be the first posts :p

Im still having problems with searches. When I search for all threads posted in by Joe T, the search shows as follows: "Search took 4.29 seconds; generated 5912 minute(s) ago."

The results of the search are therefore not up to date at all!

Any way of fixing this guys? Thanks :)

Marcel
27-07-2007, 21:35
Ive had a looksee at that Joe, and the search seems OK for me? Hmmm

Marcel
27-07-2007, 21:46
This is what I get when I run a search on all posts made by you (Ive cropped it into one image, but it's basically the first result on the left (IE Your latest post as of the time of the search), and the right hand side is the time it took, and how many results etc.

(I did this by clicking your username next to a post in this thread, then "Find most posts by Joe T"...Is this how you did it?)

I did it by going to advanced search and putting Joe T in the search for posts by user box thing and got the same Bod. I don't seem to get anything saying how long ago it did it :(

Joe T

LOL Like I say matty, everyone loves a kidder

I would have said cookie problem. Its usually the first port of call that we advise (And I personally try if I ever have a problem with a website), dunno why I didnt think of suggesting it the other day :bang:

matty

Joe T
30-07-2007, 07:13
Im now pretty sure it's not a browser or cookie problem, as it is doing the same on other computers!

:help:

Marcel

I'll go have a scout around vbulletin for you today Joe.

mij
30-07-2007, 13:44
Not that problem, but sometimes when I have reloaded a new posts page from the night before it has reloaded which never used to happen. It would normally give a 'search id not found, retry' type message.

Not familiar with vB but I assume the search results are set to expire after a certain period? If so the problem would have to be at your end as it would mean they are not being deleted from the database, hence when Joe tries to see his posts it is finding the old results an so showing them instead of generating new ones. Or if not then, erm, never mind.

Michael.

Any other thoughts anyone?

Marcel
31-07-2007, 11:19
I knew there was a setting for sharing the searches, which is disabled. (Always has been).

I will reindex the posts later tonight, when the forums are quiet, and see if that sorts it.
I had a look at vbulletin, and couldnt find anyone else with a similar problem (especially since the upgrade)
