Hello all,

Here is my first proper attempt at IR, I'm quite pleased with it, although in my haste to post it to the net I didn't crop the bottom plants out so that needs doing.

Would like peoples opinions and some critque on how to improve for next time :)

Specs:

Many Thanks,

Glad to see your enjoying IR. Nice one, a little movement in clouds and water due to 30 sec exposure.

Thats a good first attempt at IR, I find with IR its quite different from normal photography, some normal shots just dont 'work' as IR and some IR shots just wouldnt work as a normal shot.

This shot however works quite well :)

hehe thanks dude.

I tried 20, 25 second exposures but it captured it but not in the way I wanted it and don't have a manual release so had to go with the highest preset of 30 seconds, it was slightly over exposed but that was soon sorted with some PP work :)

Completely agree with you.

Some shots would of looked miles better in normal and some better in IR.

Thank you for the kind words, took me bloody ages to process the thing as it was my first, but the rest I take shouldn't take half the time!!!

Hi Phate, thats pretty good for a 1st go  looking forward to seeing more!

There's not too many rules here at TP but watch out for the pixel police ;)
Size has to be no more than 800 pixels on the longest side.

IR processing is quite different to the usual style processing so it takes a while to get a workflow going.

Indeed, had to get help from a friend to get an idea of how things flowed.

That looks really good, the only negative is that it looks a bit like a pic of a model. It's because of the blurred clouds and the oof stuff at the bottom creates a false shortening of depth of field. I just expect to see Thunderbird One coming out of the pond :D

Thanks :) would of preferred a glazed over water surface, perhaps the picture is too clear on that front?

Awesome shot mate, very nicely done - lover the colours & composition
It was unfortunately oversized though so I had to break it to a link - max size is 800pixels on the longest side.
