Ahem...Pelargoniums, they changed the name a while ago ;)

The open flower shot is lovely and a good colour Lady P
Not sure about the angle of the bud though for me.

Like the Pelargoniums shot, the vibrancy of the pink works well with the black bg.
I feel the bud would suit a less square crop, the length & shape of the stem seems to sit at odds with this one.
Jmo, of course :)

for me, it's much better as it puts the bud in context
the first was a touch too nebulous for me
jealous of the quality, though!

but the pink one (whatever it is!) is top notch!

Thanks John, I know what people are saying about the single one in that it's a bit 'in your face'!! :D It reminded me a bit of those desk lamps but a flower version !!! Or had I just been drinking ???? :D

LadyP. You realy have nailed these macro flower shots, in general not just these. Do you carry different coloured card with you for background. It would be interesting to see some of these with contrasting backgrounds rather than natural or black. I've tried and failed, but you'll get it spot on I'm sure.

I actually prefer the 1st tbh, think it'd look great too if you deepened the shadows & upped the contrast to give the bud against a very dark background IMO

Pink for me really stands out against the black, must try that sometime.

This was actually taken outside underneath a tree, but I must admit it does look like a plain black background, I was going for the natural background :suspect::D

I too prefer the 1st version, love the softness although you still see enough detail, the pink one is excellent.
