Opinions on whats good or bad about them , tried to let the charactor out as suggested in another post.

2nd one is good. Like you say, you can see the chatacter really well, just a little over exposed in places though.

Can we give the dog a name?

#1 & #2 are extremely good, just one thing, i would of cropped away the surroundings and left just the head and small portion of neck in #1, this dog has such a pose (like most boxers) last one is a good angle but would of been heaps better without the clutter in the left corner. Great series.
