Hi everyone. I Haven't posted for a while, so since my neighbours have got me up at 6.30 again I've rushed through my recent shots and found a title that covers a decent slice of the recent ones.

These are taken; Southend on Sea, Red Bull Air Race and some part of the coast near Brighton.

Which why and what not as usual please.

The first shot was infuriatingly difficult to process the way i wanted, seemed to have the potential but I couldn't make it pop like I needed...grrr.
Second shot is my fave of this bunch I think.

The first is a great shot, but as you say, it seems to need a tiny bit more of something - I have no idea what, but it is my favourite.
The 2 mountaineering shots are slightly dark for me, but otherwise also lovely pictures - could well be my monitor, which I am about to calibrate for the first time..
Hope I can take some pictures as good one day..

Nice work Adam, but 2 and 4 stand out for me! :D

I do believe my first thought was that Number 1 is begging for a bit of photoshopping. If it wasnt for that trail in front of the building, it looks like it's juust ran up it and taken off. :D

All excellent shots Adam. A total break from your usual stuff too. Was it outside your comfort zone? If was to pick a favourite (or two), I would say 2 and 4.

Why? The simplicity of 2 and the strong definition of 4. I find a few niggly points with the others in comparison :)

Cracking set Adam - agree its a deviation from your normal style but the same eye is detectable :)

If pressed, I'd go for the 1st - there's a contemporary King Kong-esque feeling to it. But for Lordys sake, as John says, either straighten that edge or pass the duchy!!!!

Adam, the contrast between the sky & clouds in #2 is just gorgeous ... easily my fave

Me too Glo. ...simple thing with nice light. what else is their!

Thanks for your thoughts everyone.

Was it outside your comfort zone?

I don't think so, not sure if I have a comfort zone (I probably have though  ) ...dunno, every shot now has become an application of everything I've learnt from you guys over the last year. I can honestly say I've stopped snapping, and things that would have been on my list previously get totally ignored, if it hasn't got the light or some other intriguing attribute, then comp alone is not enough.
Or, I may wish that is what I'm doing.

But for Lordys sake, as John says, either straighten that edge or pass the duchy!!!!

On the left hand side mate. :D

How do I straighten a curved building then .. or am I missing something. hmmm.

Thanks all. :)

Sorry - is it designed like that? I've never see it in the flesh but it looks like its leaning to the right...........

You rearranged Dungeness to cater for my whims and peccadilloes yet? :D:D

Jonny, just ran it through PT - it is leaning, by about 0.6 [that was the rotation correction I could apply] - and it will line up exactly with grid verticals....so save it, crop a tad off to accomodate the rotation...and it still looks like its leaning...pressumably because of the curavature of the windows at the bottom of the image fooling the eye into thinking its still leaning... :bang::lol:

As for your pecadillos... are we doing a whisky tasting at dungeness? :D

:D :p

As for the Dungeness meet, well ... its a good job we started the arranging early.

Oh, and the first round is on you mate. :D

:D Thats my excuse. ... but err yep, put in your 0.6 and , its straighter. :( :coat:

... another version.

I thought the first one was great! And I didn't like the second one. After all the praise I went back for a second look at #2 and I still don't like it ;)
