HDR and Duotone were mostly used.

Oh yeah, used Photoshop CS2's HDR, Photomatix keeps watermarking them and not letting me use the Generate then HDR option.

Me likey this one better.
It's on Grange lane around the corner from the Black Bull and used to be Riding stables I think.

The first is very contrasty, as is the 2nd but it works better. Also the horizon is off in the first.

Probably constrasty because I used a little Mildtone contrast In the shadows and highlights tool.
The Horizon?
The first doesn't look level.

Yeah, I could of leveled or angled It better but I'm paranoid when I get too close to a building to take a pic Incase I get questioned by someone so I'm cautious.
I have another angle of the 1st one so I might try that or go again since I go near Gateacre alot anyway.
In Photoshop I usually just use Auto Levels but manually used It for the first one because auto didn't change It.

Played with the levels again and mostly just see a difference In some of the shadows on the pic.

Auto levels isn't for adjusting the level or angle of an image. Its for adjusting the actual levels of the shadows, midtones and highlights.

I thought you meant Levels of shadows and stuff.:p
Not sure If adjusting the level or angle would Improve It, Is It the crop and straighten tool you mean?

Theres a crop and straighten In PS and It's crap there.
Windows service pack 2 won't work on my computer and I need that for lightroom.

I still see a pic of the pub on this thread even though I deleted It from my flickr.
It's probably haunting me!
Try control-F5 to force a complete refresh then you will see just 2 pictures in the thread like i do :)
Nope ... just 4 blank white spaces saying 'this photo is currently unavailable'
That's what I get too - you should leave your images up though so as people can view the progress & the steps that you have gone through to improve an image.

This Is the B & W version of the coloured one above.

Well put them back up then
B&W version is better but that cycling symbol really stands out a bit too much now (it didn't in the colour version) & what exactly is the thing over the window - looks like some kind of ribboning?

Its the head of a giraffe that lives there ;)

Just wanted to tryout Sepia for this Image and thought It might be effective due to the look of this building.
At the moment I'm still In a mood to just practice with photos and not take too many or work on any too fast so any comments welcome.
