Seeing as how you had troubles getting your pictures to show in the thread I'm going to feel bad about this.... I'm going to have to edit them to be links as they are too large.

800 pixels is the maximum size for pictures that show in a thread. You can either resize them to 800 and edit the first post back to [ img ] tags or leave it as links.

As to your pictures. not bad at all for a beginner :) This thread (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=24859) could help you improve them.
