View Full Version : A very mixed bag
Hi All
Here are some images I've taken over the last few weeks; trying to apply some of the things I've learned from here (gulp!):

Comments most welcome - especially re composition as most of these have been cropped somewhat...

Really like #4 and #5 - you can see the concentration in her face!

Well, these are my thoughts and not to be taken seriously because I'm not an expert :D
#1 the clouds are a bit bright and is that some lens flare on the church?? I like the composition though.
#2 great colours but I personally would have cropped it at the second set of windows.
#3 perfect  great composition and excellent capture of the the wicket falling (is that the correct term ;)) Did you give them some tips - seeing you're an expert in this field :lol:
#4 love this one as well
#5 good expression but perhaps cropped a bit too tight on the arm ;)
Good set though ;)
some nice photos there mate, although i would say i agree with the statements above, the sky in the church is a bit blown out, and i also would have cropped the harley at the second set of windows, i really like the urban dancer but as lady pitstop said just a tad to tight crop on the arm, but overall a good set of photos
Thanks for c&c - much appreciated.
I'm now giving up on HDR!!!
Nah dont give up on it :)
Give that first one a reprocess (if you have the original RAW with the sky detail), I think you have the balance quite good
#2 I like the idea of the composition, but if it was me shooting it, I would have stepped to the left and back a little to get less distortion and angle on the building. Thats personal choice though :)
#3 Excellent. Very well composed. Can see the action, adheres to the rule of thirds. Much better
#4 Another great timed shot. I'd try a little bit of the shadow / highlight tool in CS2 if you have it. I dont think the sunlight was on your side here, quite harsh, but considering that you've captured quite a good amount of detail. Well done :)
#4 My favourite. Like others have said, a little too tight on her arm, but thats no biggie TBH. I did have to glance twice to find her other arm. Love the concentration on her face too. I saw some urban dancers round here last year, fascinating to watch.
