View Full Version : Guess where I have been....
A nice picture with the kit lens. It is a nice lens to carry around when you are half drunk from a long lunch and need to take some photos.

Could be the start of A NEW QUIZ/CONTEST if the response is positive.
Thanks for looking.

03-08-2007, 08:35
give that man a banana!! :D
You are correct it's Kiz Kulesi (Leander's Tower) in the middle of the Bosphorus in Istanbul. It has a great restauraunt there and was also used as a location in "The World is not Enough" (or the last bad Bond film as we now call it) where Judi Dench was imprisoned.
Your turn Marcel
Arrrggghh! to sloooow ..... and so wrong!
Well that was a complete lucky guess. The only city in Turkey I've heard of....
I'll be fair and give it to Glo this time (especially considering Im not very well travelled).....
Best I could offer is t'pie shop in town.

Is this a Blackbird? It was at Mildenhall once when active but now? Farnborough?
Good spot - but no. It's the A12, the precursor of both the SR-71 and the YF-12.
But where is it? There are clues in the picture.
Your local UPS depot? I thought they only used vans?
Well I am going to hazard a guess its somewhere in the States....California?
I believe that is on the Intrepid, an aircraft carrier on display in New York which is now a museum. It was also used as the FBI Operations Centre following the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers. Fascinating place to visit if you ever get the chance.
I hope I'm right after that. :D
Welded floor plates, chains.....Colin, I hate you!:lol:
the clues were welded floor plates = metal = carrier and a display stand and the public wandering around.
