View Full Version : Four pictures from Corfu
Not posted any pictures for a while so these few random shots might make me feel a bit better :)
A large (6" across) seedhead thing in the villa garden.

I like 3 & 4.
The clouds in number 3 are superb, and I really like the layers of the hills in silhouette in number 4.

Really like 3 & 4, especially the 'layers' of hills in 4 - gives a real feeling of depth. I have to say, 2 does nothing for me and 1 is technically fine but doesn't really grab me.

lovely shots Robert. That could be one of those statues that only moves a little every now and then, it probably is lol! That cloud is amazing!
I like them all in their own way.
Seed head could be from the Allium family, nice detail to it.
Yep, 2 is definitely forlorn!
The clouds in 3 are spectacular, look almost 3D.
Lovely light in 4.
#1 & #4 for me Robert.
I really like the way the 'dandelion clock' seedhead fans out, seems to fit the frame so much better than my recent 'round' efforts! :p
Has a real soft fluffy look that makes me want to run my fingers over it.
#4, oooh those beautiful misty hills, what I wouldnt give to take a shot like that, gorgeous layers of soft muted colours ... just lovely!
There is a lot of detail lost in that small version of the seed head thing. Looks good on a 24" screen :)
crop detail at about 50%..

I knew the statue wasn't much as a photograph but you can't help but feel sorry for it so tightly bound :)
Thanks for the comments.

Now the statue I liked for it's complete statement on it's own reason for being. I've I'd ahve been there I would've had to capture it!
The last two are quite stunning..... I love the recession in the last one.
#1
Does nothing for me in the context of the other three :( Technically very good though ;)

perhaps that was one of those people that pretend to be statues but they died becasue they were covered in plastic!

#3 is great its a cumulus congestus cloud in front with a just forming cumulonimbus cloud behind (you can just make out the slightly wispy quality to the top of the cloud which is due to ice crystals) was there a thunderstorm later? {edit - Did I mention that I'm a member of the Cloud Appreciation Society?**
#4 is beautiful - though looking at it, I prefer it if the bottom is cropped a little to just below the little island thingy at the end of the peninsula.
You're certain its just a statue inside that plastic ??
The seed head is great and the clouds are awesome - i would love to take some shots as good as those. I'll keep trying.
Well done.
As said the last 2 are great and the flower head is a pin sharp capture
Four good shots. Like 3 & 4 the best, especially the cloud in No 3 looks as if it's exploding out. As for the statue perhaps they were expecting the rain that we have been having.;)

The cloud head is an interesting shot thats well composed.
Composition of the fourth is good but it seems ruined by haze?
One and two leave me completely cold I'm afraid
The cropped version of 1 is good
The cloud scene in Albania is my favourite shot. Very nice.
Great set,
but 3 & 4 are my favourite!
