Some nice action shots there, what settings were you using?
Maybe if the aperature was more open the background would have been thrown out more. Really like the last one, do you think it could handle a slight crop.
All in all a great first attempt.
Dean:)
Thanks Dean. The aperture was as wide as possible. The problem was most shots were taken at around 200mm with my Sigma APO 70-300 so the aperture was always above 5ish. I was shooting Shutter priority though so maybe the aperture was smaller sometimes without me noticing. I'll keep an eye on that next time.
A great first attempt. Youve captured some lovely action there
They do seem a little underexposed on my monitor. Did you use any exposure compensation to compensate for the sky?
I shot in RAW and adjusted them slightly before converting to jpeg. Think 2 or 3 of them definetely need some more adjusting. The last 3 pics are with the sun behind me: Do you think they are the better ones (exposure wise)?
I'm so glad I shot in RAW, the 1st 40 or so pics I done were in black and white! oops. Luckily with them being in RAW I could just turn the colour back on afterwards. :bonk::lol:
Nice 1st attempt mate, football is very difficult to shoot
2nd & 3rd shots look very underexposed but the last two are spot on exposure wise - you can get great effects shooting into the sun but you really have to nail the exposure.
Just make sure to use the highest aperture possible at all times & watch those backgrounds (nothing you could have done about it this time though). Great 1st attempt though
As said, good shots, but watch your exposure and aperture.
