I must say i am impressed by the spec of this forthcomming Panasonic DMC-FZ30

Having scratched my plans for a 350D , due to cost, and saving for a house, this would be fairly cheap at circa £500 considering the near on £1000 i would have spent to start with on the 350D and a 17-85 IS USM lens, let alone adding the 70-300 IS USM DO lens later at another £800+ and all the trappings to go with it.

Although i favour Canon, I have to say I like the spec of this, and the format/looks, compared to say the Canon PowerShot S2 IS

I think i shall be keeping a close eye on this beauty when it debuts.

I like the idea of the huge zoom available 35- 420mm!! without the cost and weight of lugging around a load of kit.

My mate's got the FZ10 and he's been pretty happy with it, although he's now thinking of getting either a 350D or a Nikon D50.

The zoom and stabilisation on his FZ10 are great and it's compact enough to carry around easily. I've seen a fair amount of noise on some of his pics but I don't know how he sets it up.

If you want to see examples of stuff shot on an FZ10 I've got some of his galleries hosted on my site... Here:

I had an FZ20 and it was great, so the FZ30 should be fabulous! :D
