View Full Version : Cheeky gits
The local free paper asked me for some images from the Rock the Castle event I covered on Sunday, as it was for my charity I supplied them asking only for a credit but it looks like they couldn't even be bothered to do that, it will be interesting to see if the credit is in the paper when it comes out today.

Inovice the buggers and give the results to your charity.
We have a lot of problems on another forum which I am a member of jornos knicking pictures and using them without permission. In a lot of cases cropping of or cloning out any watermarks or copyright notices.
Good luck Hacker!
I just followed the link from their copyright notice and found this:

What's good for the goose is good for the gander methinks....
Geordi, good idea, I'll try and get some money out of them and give it to the charity.

That means theyve effectively stolen your images and are laying claim that they own them.
I'd put in a damages claim for my reputation or something....cheeky sods.
does that mean that if you use the image for something else they could sue you as they have a copyright notice on there??

Now that is something I would look forward to! :D

Fight! Fight! Fight!...
Seriously though, I would contact them about it first to discuss incase it is an honest mistake (probably isn't) and see what they offer before going in all guns blazing.
The paper came through the door last night and I was given a credit so fair enough, it was probably just an oversight with the web page. Cheekily, I sent in the this picture with the batch from the day and they used it so my boys are now chuffed that they are in the paper! :D

An Iron Bru making associated charity I hope.:D
NME is notorious for not crediting photographers
a lot of newspapers tend to do this
sometimes they credit the photo to the band/event
Well at least they got it in the paper. Archant also produce The Ham & High, the local paper in the neighbourhood of our business premises, and they are quick to invoice us for advertising, so if they hadnt have credited your colin, I would have definately recommended a quick smart invoice heading their way ;)
