I have been very privileged and also very fortunate this morning ...
First off ... Jill cleaned the windows at the weekend ... including the Garden Room french doors (my office) ... :D
Returned after making my third coffee first thing to find Benson sniffing too closely at something on the decking just outside the single open door (of a pair) ... :suspect:
On investigation I saw it was this little fella/fellaress ... ... sitting stunned on the deck and looking a little the worse for his experience ... so I picked it up and, as I usually do cupped it in my hands to let it warm up and gather its wits again ... ;)
It had obviously clobbered the closed door and stunned itself - there were traces of blood you might just see on its beak ...
And I thought I might get a pic or two and believe it or not ... ... although I usually have the 80 - 400mm attached to the camera it was sitting on my desk ... switched on (see other thread !) and with the Nifty Fifty attached ... otherwise there is no way I would have been able to take any of these ...
Anyway ... I have already posted the first in the Bird-in-the-Hand quiz HERE (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=30377) as correctly guessed by Matt and confirmed by Janice it is a young Greenfinch ... so here he is after posing voluntarily for around five minutes before it decided enough was enough and took to the trees right as rain once more ...
