View Full Version : Random flower shot......
Not sure whether this is a 'proper' flower or a pretty weed as it's in our otherwise barren garden but the bush looked 'different' the other day so I took a couple of pics. On reflection, not too sure whether it works or not. Having a bit of a 'photovision' crisis at the moment in the sense that what I see and what the picture looks like, aren't quite as cohesive as they should be.....

C&C welcomed, along with identification of the make(?) / species(?) - You can tell I'm into my gardening.......
Well I think you did pretty good! Exposure seems right, colour, composition etc... Well done ;)
Nice shot, exposure looks spot on to me too but I would have liked to have seen a little room around the flower

That is really well done Yoby ... ... for an almost all white image you have managed to keep detail in the white as well as the darker colours ... not easy to achieve ...
I would have liked to see a slighty more oof background and a little more space around the blossom ... which, I believe, is a flower as opposed to weed but as for the make ...
:p
A 'weed' is only a plant that is unwanted where its growing! ;)
Thats a well exposed shot yoby, kept detail in both light and dark areas. Yes, a little more space around it might have been good, but having some space to the right works well.
Thanks for the positive comments. It's interesting that you would have preferred more space, as this is actually slightly cropped. The original was more centred in the frame which is why I cropped it - Not sure if it's on this laptop, but if I can find it I'll post it for comparison.
Shutter speed, 1/160 @ f5.6, ISO 100 & It was taken with the Kit Lens @ 31mm, hence the slightly more focused b/g than I would have got with the zoom lens (I think)
Dug out the original uncropped version..... still think it's too central personally.......
