Feeling really fed up and I shouldn't be.

I finally got my certificate for passing the NCFE Level 1 course in Photography, so I was really happy.

Been down to the College today to pick up my portfolio and see about enrolling to do level 2.

I can't believe how much they have hiked the price up.

Last year it was £145.00 for two terms plus £45.00 for the qualification.

This year they are charging £105.60 per term and the lady on reception said for Level 2 you have to do all three terms then there will be the qual fee on top. This seems a really huge increase and I'm now reconsidering doing it.

Does anyone know of any other way of taking my photography forward by some other means?

Thanks

Andrea

TBH, that doesn't sound like very much to me at all. I know it's a big increase over what you paid for last year but it still looks like a good deal.

If you're happy with the course, like the collage and the money is findable, then I'd say go for it. It feels like stopping now might be a decision you'd regret somewhere down the line. It's so invaluable to be surrounded by people with a passion for and a desire to lean about photography. After all, it's always so much better to regret doing something than to regret not doing it.

I'm just about to sign up for a BTEC level 2 and 3 in photography and that's £474 for one night a week for a total of 70 weeks (2 year part time course).

How would that compare to an NCFE course?

That sounds better, I'm struggling to find other courses in my area.

the NCFE course will work out at £305.00 plus examination fee for 33 weeks.

Will do a google on the BTEC and see if I can find anything else out about it and where it runs. I'm a bit limited with living out in the country. Ideally I would like to do a course in Lancaster as that is where I work, I could probably get to Kendal for an evening course but Skipton would be pushing it in an evening to get there in time as its a good 1hr 40 mins to get there from Lanacaster. I don't really want to be driving too far in winter.

Thanks for the feedback so far.
