Now Nikon users can use their cameras as door stops, just like Canon users:

We've heard the complaints about the noise of Nikon cameras versus their Canon counterparts for a couple of years now," Kogaku said. "We've done our very best with the D40, D80, and D200 to provide better noise performance, and while I feel we succeeded, the public apparently disagrees. For this reason, we've completely removed the mirror from the D3. No mirror slap means no noise whatsoever.

Titter ye not - a guy I know who's in the know tells me that Nikon will be releasing 3 new models by the end of September.....
Something between the D200 & D2x, a new compact & one "high end" body.
Will be watching with interest......

Your right as well. Rumours have it that a D300 and a D3 will be announced, although the D3 might end up as D3H and D3X, but we'll find out soon enough.
