View Full Version : Caisteal Liath - Suilven
From Caisteal Liath, near the summit of Suilven, looking south towards Loch Sionascaig and Stac Pollaidh to the right and Loch Veyatie and Cull Mor to the left.
This is the Inverpolly National Nature Reserve in Sutherland.
A long, long day to reach the summit of Suilven from Lochinver. :bonk:

That is some view! Shame about those oppressive clouds. The bright horizon draws my eye and the foreground just seems sort of in the way.
Edit: just clicked your larger version link - looks much better there!
Excellent view. As RP says the clouds probably stop the shot being a wall hanger.
Nice shot from a great climb - it is a heck of a walk in and out. Still, it keeps the crowds on Stac Pollaidh and gives you some peace on Suilven! :)

I can't even begin to pronounce those names
The smaller image doesn't do the shot any justice. The large image however looks stunning - what a view. Overall looks a little dark on my monitor, but maybe that's what you were aiming for
like the photo, shame about the cloud cover, I feel like I'm going to bang my head on the clouds and keep ducking every time I look at the photo :lol::lol:
Hmm, I dissagree. I like the clouds. It almost adds a sense of danger to the shot what with rapidly changing weather normally common to locations of such altitude. Still a lovely shot either way! :)
Liking the clouds as they are too. They not only give you that sense of being so high up you can bump your head on the ceiling of the world but they also mirror the foreground rock and lead the eye to the horizon.

I think you have recorded the character of this area very well indeed!
Good shoot. Nice and moody :)
